JAMES "JIMMY" MONDRAGON IS A FRAUD, AND STEALING MF
The defense rests its case.... SUCK IT MOFO'S
thanks for the signatures!I will state for the record that the butt hurt local crew from Austin talking all the trash, the Tree House Tribe, should probably back off seeing as they failed to follow through with previous events they were throwing since Heroes VS Villains which was canceled. And simply because one of their DJs, Nate B, who for all intents and purposes is a great guy and DJ, was not selected to play during the New Years Massive doesn't give them a right to *** about MI. Basic point in the above matter is, MI has money, Tree House Tribe needs to do less QQ, more pew pew. Enough said.
Back to the matter at hand.
Speaking with members of Massive Intent, Andrew Morehouse being one of them along with a few others who shall remain nameless, and reviewing the evidence and statements posted by Massive Intent and Showtek's management, I'm simply going to say that Showtek is at fault.
Massive Intent that night had offered them their money. Showtek and their management at the last second demanded unreasonably that it all be in cash, which was absolutely ridiculous considering that the banks were closed already and nowhere in Showtek's contract does it say that it needs to be paid in cash. They were offered pay pal, wired transfer, and even a check. They said no. Showtek demanded cash and honestly, it was unreasonable for them to do so.
Showtek has been notorious for not showing to events, which is why Q-Dance has dropped them. Showtek has already developed their reputation for failing to deliver to their fans and this is absolute fact and cannot be disputed.
Despite this, me being the hardstyle enthusiast as I am, came out to the concert in order to see them because quite frankly before this past weekend, I loved Showtek's music, old and new. I was honestly excited to see an inspirational international headliner who had released such good music that had such a good message.
What was proven to me was that Showtek was not in it for the music. Whatever dispute, money or otherwise, could have been handled after the concert, but no. Showtek chose to disappoint their fans and ***, making unreasonable requests before going on, and for all intents and purposes, ruined their following here in the hard dance scene in Texas.
One of the people working on setting up, who shall remain nameless, heard one of the members of Showtek complaining about the lack of a barricade because they were afraid that fans would "rush the stage." Honestly, if you're an international headliner, you're going to have a few crazy fans that are going to try to get up on stage regardless of a barricade or not. They also had almost ten police officers there who could have easily blocked off anyone who would have attempted such a feat and escorted them out.
Showtek had already been in Austin since earlier in the day. They easily could have gone to the venue, played their set, and discussed whatever issues they had after the fact. Showtek did not answer their phones, would not answer their door at the hotel, and did not make any statement about playing until 1 in the morning on their Twitter that they would not play. This was unacceptable. No artist, no matter how large or well known, is never too good to deliver to the fans. Showtek has simply proven again that they are in it for the money, not the music.
People are complaining about Massive Intent failing over and over again when honestly, it's people nit picking little details to make Massive Intent look like they don't deliver. Take the Anne Savage incident from Future Fest of 09.
Anne Savage, 1 on the 20 headliners, could not make it to this massive. A statement was released by Massive Intent that Anne Savage could not obtain a working Visa and therefore could not be allowed spin at Future Fest. Many people have said that it was because Massive Intent didn't have money, but somehow they managed to pay the 19 other headliners. It's clear that people can't do math so let me try and help with a simple equation.
Future Fest = 20 Headliners - 1 Headliner = 19 Headliners all of whom were paid in addition to the other local DJs that were paid, excluding a few locals who will be nameless, who were not because they asked for entirely too much.
People also have been getting onto Massive Intent for shady beginnings that started in California. I will not say that these beginnings are true or not, but disregarding where Massive Intent came from and the methods of how they got here, they have done a great thing by bringing massive events back to the Texas scene and have been doing successful shows for over a year now. Despite Massive Intent's roots, their dedication to our scene and the memories they've brought me and the many other electronic dance music faithfuls have given them my full support.
In regards to Showtek, I'd like to point out a few messages stated in your music.
"I live for the music."
If this were the case, you would have played despite whatever financial issues you supposedly had with Massive Intent.
"I won't back down, the world is my playground."
Clearly this past weekend, you backed down and Texas certainly is no longer part of your playground as you have easily destroyed your fan base here.
"I'm willing to die for the cause."
But not willing to suck up some financial issue for the cause? What is your cause then? Money. It's just money to you.
I'll ask you this, Showtek. Why should you take life so seriously? I thought you enjoyed the music and I thought you loved to get hardstyle fanatics up and moving. Clearly I was mistaken.
I no longer appreciate any of the messages in your music because they come from hypocritical sell outs like yourselves. You're detrimental to the hard dance following all over the world and you should go back and rethink your actions and re-learn what it means to be about the music and not the money.
I'm also thankful you gave Moonstruck Red, a local from our Dallas scene a chance to take up the stage and prove that he can bring it hard at an event. The spot light for him was everything he deserved for his dedication to the music. Sparticus, Noel, and Ryle all put on a great show that night. Noel and Sparticus even came back for the last time slot and did a tag set together long after their sets were over. It just goes to show that some people appreciate the music and are willing to go the extra mile for music.
I hope that this actually makes some impact on you and your management and the people that believe what Showtek did was okay. What Showtek did was brash, unacceptable, and childish. If you believe anything otherwise, you're probably ignorant of the facts or you're just another person on the "hate Massive Intent" band wagon.
Showtek, your actions were disgraceful to the hard dance following.
