It´s the sound that currently takes the world by storm. Only recently the results of the voting for the most important worldwide DJ list were unveiled – the DJ Mag Top100. 10% of all Top DJ´s are Hardstyle DJ´s. Now it´s clear – the winners are not only the DJ´s, but a whole genre: Hardstyle. Nearly all have left their fingerprints on this compilation series. Headhunterz(17), Noisecontrollers (35), Zatox (47), Wildstylez (80), Brennan Heart (98) and now D-Block & S-Te-Fan (40). Dubstyle- House- and Trance- influences make Hardstyle more accessible nowadays, without losing it`s rough and raw character. Today everybody is talking about Hardstyle. It´s fascinating to follow the evolution of Showtek from the niche of Early Hardstyle into the EDM Major League. Sjoerd and Wouter are touring the whole year under their “Fuck The System flag”, are having their own stages on the biggest festivals such as Electrocity or Dance Valley, are spinning their tracks on mega-events like Electric Daisy Carnival, Creamfields or Nocturnal alongsides with Tiësto, Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten or Deadmau5, are producing one hit after another and are running their own label Dutch Master Works – are these guys ever sleeping? Rarely – they even found the time to produce the latest Allure album together with Tiesto and House burner like “Boys Will Be Boys – We Rock“ (with Tiesto und Angger Dimas). Unbelieveable! The result is: Showtek take the DJ Mag Top 100 by storm (#58) and are nominated by Mixmag as “The Greatest Dance Act Of All Time”. And this is just a stopover. This time the Dutch duo D-Block & S-Te-Fan (DBSTF) take on the ultimate battle against Showtek. Diederick Bakker and Stefan den Daas are the last years` shootingstars. Their style is more melodic, more house influenced, but perfect productions, great melodies, hard kicks and an enormous amount of creativity have led them to the top hardstyle producers and DJ´s. They met in 2004 and things went on very fast for them. Their releases were played by all major DJ´s and the promoters of biggest events stood in queue to book them. Today they are headlining Qlimax, Defqon1, Deciblel, Thrillogy, Reverze or Q-Base. In January this year they had their own X-Qlusive party in the Amsterdam Heineken Hall. After they left their label “Next Chapter”, they founded their own label “Scantraxx Evolutions” under the Scantraxx roof. #40 in this years` DJ Mag Top100 speeks for itself. The only way is up – get the party started.
